DigiPrime Primers

MICHELMAN DIGIPRIME® FOR HP INDIGO® PRESSES

DigiPrime® primers provide excellent adhesion of the HP ElectroInk and improved rub resistance on a variety of substrates printed on the HP Indigo press. These primers area non-flammable water-based technology with no VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compound). Because DigiPrime® primers contain no solvents, they are friendly to the environment and do not degrade the printer blanket with repeated use. DigiPrime® is non-carcinogenic, is easy to use, and has a minimum one year shelf life; it will not yellow, absorb moisture or become tacky. DigiPrime® primers can be applied using flexographic, gravure, rod or roll coating methods.

Hewlett Packard has endorsed the use of DigiPrime® primers on the HP Indigo Press.

DigiPrime®Primers:

DigiPrime® 2000 - DP2000 is press ready and provides excellent adhesion of HP ElectroInk to all uncoated paper grades. Designed for papers only.

DigiPrime® 4431 - DP4431 is press ready and provides excellent adhesion of HP ElectroInk to a wide variety of films. DP4431 is designed for paper and some film products.

DigiPrime® 4450 - DP4450 is a ready to use primer which provides excellent adhesion of HP Indigo ElectroInks® to a wide variety of films and papers.

DigiPrime® 5000 - DP5000 serves the same purpose as the DP4431, but is formulated for a screen printing process. It has a higher viscosity and dries slower. DP5000 is used on paper and some films.

DigiPrime® 5000HV - DP5000HV serves the same purpose as the DP5000. It has a higher viscosity. DP5000HV is used on paper and some films.

DigiGuard® 100G - DGG100 is an overprint varnish that protects the HP ElectroInk and provides a consistent finish and improved appearance. This product can be used on any printable surface.

DigiGuard® Gloss 110 - DGG110 is a high gloss, temperature resistant, water based overpirint varnish for use in applications requiring direct food contact.

All products are available in 5 gallon pails (40#) or drums (475#). The lead time for pails is one business day, and the lead time for the drums is 7 business days.
